How it works

Say it once. They hear it once.

Send a private voice message in under a minute. Your recipient needs no account, no app, and no signup.

The short version

Record

A short voice message. Speak it. Don’t type it.

Send two keys

Link by email. PIN by text. Delivered apart.

Heard once

They enter the PIN and play it one time. You get a played notice.

Gone

The recording is deleted the moment it’s played. Unplayed messages expire within 7 days.

The PIN is texted when you add the recipient’s mobile number; otherwise it arrives in a separate email.

Sending takes under a minute

Everything happens in your browser. Nothing to install.

  1. Record or upload

Speak your message right in the browser, or upload an audio file you already have. Listen back before you send, and re-record as many times as you like.

  2. Choose who and for how long

Pick a saved contact or type an email address. Set how long the link stays open, from 1 hour up to 7 days. The default is 24 hours. Add a short note if you want to.

  3. Send

Privitum emails your recipient a private link. The PIN travels separately, by text message if you have saved their phone number, or in a second email if you have not. When you save a phone number, you confirm the person has agreed to receive a PIN text.

Receiving takes three steps

Your recipient does not need to be technical, or to have anything set up.

  1. Open the link

It opens in any browser. No account, no app, no signup.

  2. Enter the PIN

The six-digit PIN arrives on a different channel from the link, so the link alone is not enough.

  3. Press play

The message plays one time. As soon as it plays, the recording is deleted. There is no replay.

After you send, you stay in the loop

You get an email the moment a message is played, and your Sent page shows where every message stands.

Pending

Delivered, not played yet.

Played

They heard it. The recording is already gone.

Expired

The link ran out before they played it. The recording is deleted automatically.

Protected

Someone entered the wrong PIN five times, so Privitum destroyed the message to protect it. You are notified, and you can simply send a new one.

The honest limit

Privitum makes sure a recording is never left sitting in an inbox. It cannot stop someone from recording their speaker while the message plays, so treat it like a conversation: send it only to the person it is meant for.

Common questions

Does my recipient need an account?

No. They open the link, enter the PIN, and listen. Nothing to install or sign up for.

How long can a message be?

Free messages run up to 30 seconds. Solo allows up to 5 minutes, Professional up to 10, and Firm (currently a waitlist) up to 20.

How long does the link stay open?

You choose, from 1 hour to 7 days. The default is 24 hours. If nobody plays it by then, it expires and the recording is deleted.

What if my recipient mistypes the PIN?

They get five tries. After the fifth wrong PIN, the message is destroyed and you are notified.

Can I tell when it has been heard?

Yes. You get an email when it is played, and your Sent page shows the status of every message.

Does Privitum keep my recordings?

No. The recording is encrypted while it waits, and deleted as soon as it is played or expires. Privitum keeps a short Sent history (the recipient and the status, never the audio) so you can track your messages. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

What does it cost?

Your first 5 messages are free, no card needed. Paid plans start at $39 a month. See pricing.

Try it on a real message. It is free.
